Ringo Deathstarr + Gringo Star + Lyrebirds

Juan Maclean Latenight DJ set!
We had the launch party for The Juan Maclean's latest album at White Heat back in April and are thoroughly excited to be having him back to DJ. If you don't already know the Juan Maclean are on DFA records and one of the finest purveyors of the kind of Disco House that sends the dancefloor wild. And here is Happy House, performed live at White Heat, sending the dancefloor wild:

Ringo Deathstarr
Gringo Star

Ringo Deathstarr are one half of a split single coming out on Club AC30 with The Depreciation Guild which, seeing as we have TDG playing two weeks before, is quite nice. Pitchfork say "Their pulsing layers of feedback and those droll, deadpan vocals are ripped straight from Psychocandy, but the galloping, amphetamine rhythms are harder charging than even the most amped up track on that album." and here's a nice video of them:
And Gringo Star: "Though the bouncy, polished pop-rock of Gringo Star sounds like the stuff of major-label dreams, the Atlanta quartet with the punning name to end all punning names put out its own full-length debut, All Ya'll. The decidedly bright album was slickly produced by Gnarls Barkley engineer Ben H. Allen, with layers of garage jangle over a Kinks and Britpop backbone. Gringo Star recently played Lollapalooza, bringing its members’ trademark inter-song instrument-hopping to an especially large audience. " The Onion
Lyrebirds have some things getting released on the rather good Chess Club label. Quoth Rough Trade Shops: "causing a ruckus with their strain of unashamedly expansive music; they make pop on a grand scale, shot through with streaks of fraying, decaying glamour".
