FELT TIP
Felt Tip are three boys and one girl from East London who play guitar-(sp)angled music. Tonight is a launch party for their ‘Simple Things’ EP, out on fierce panda on June 9th. The EP follows six months of quietly ferocious action which has seen Felt Tip play with the likes of Hatcham Social, The Crookes, Desperate Journalist and Broken Records in virtually every cool venue across town. Tidy of thread and proud of tune, their spiky, intelligent British pop has hauled forth comparisons with Franz Ferdinand, Pulp, Orange Juice and XTC. A cover of the latter's 'Making Plans For Nigel' made a rousing appearance at a previous Felt Tip launch party - you have been warmed...

H A B I T A T S
Habitats are four young roustabouts from Hampshire who recently released their debut single 'Diamond Days' on Label Fandango. A raffish slice of topically tropical guitar action it is, too - kinda cool but casually exuberant at the same time, and a veritable monster in the Soundcloud stats machine. Some of these people have really quite gnarly beards, which encourages us to occasionally describe the Habitats' muse as 'Hobbit-forming'.

COASTAL CITIES
Coastal Cities are five youthful tykes from Buckinghamshire who neatly define themselves as "major key melancholy". Their classic 'Summer Reign' video showcases some sharp cheekbones and super-smooth leftfield pop guitarisms. It's dreamy and gently dramatic with a sad-sounding ending, just like every proper holiday romance should be.
