XX Teens ALBUM LAUNCH
We've had them on a few times in the past four years and now Mute
are putting out their debut album. Excited isn't even the word. IN some shamelsee
cut and paste action here's a chunk of biog:
"Previous singles such as Onkawara, Darlin’ and How To Reduce The
Chances Of Being A Terror Victim have already seen them bag single of the
week slots in NME, praise from the likes of Zane on Radio1, front covers of
Artrocker and a slot in the NME’s tracks of 2007 list. And with Welcome
To Goon Island, XX Teens look set to bring a bit of depth & technicolour
joy into the sometime hegemonic drabness of the current musical landscape.
The album was produced by with Ross Orton (Fat Truckers, MIA, Bromheads Jacket,
Kid Acne) in Sheffield at the end of 2007. A joyous and innovative record
which rumbles, rolls & swings coming to an end with the swirling psychedelia
of Sun Comes Up and a moving eulogy from Brian Haw."
Meanwhile the Clik Clik are about to head off for a great big long residency
at Ibiza Rocks. This is a last chance to see them before they jet out. Bang
in the middle of that whole Wonky Pop thing with the likes of Alphabeat, Frankmusic
etc. they're very much of the moment.
Preparing for our fifth birthday in some style here. Go Listen to
zZz and tell me you can't imagine them as the ultimate party freakout.
