Chuck Palahniuk
7pm-9pm. Tuesday 12th Novembee. £5Adv
We're
very excited to be doing something a bit different this week at
White Heat: We've teamed up with FOYLES for our first literary event:
a reading by and Q&A with Chuck Palahniuk on his new novel DOOMED.
Doors are 7pm, it'll be seated &the bar will be open!
CHUCK PALAHNIUK has made a running total of seventy-seven
people faint at his readings. When he isn’t inducing fits
in his fans, he sends them gifts boxes, in which they are lucky
enough to find a letter, a stuffed toy, some plastic vomit or severed
fingers (fake).
Before becoming a bestselling author, he was a movie projectionist,
a dishwasher, a mechanic, a journalist and a volunteer at a homeless
shelter.
His twelve novels, which he calls ‘contemporary romances’,
include Tell-All, Pygmy, Snuff, Rant, Haunted, Lullaby, Diary, Survivor
and Invisible Monsters. Three have been adapted into films: Fight
Club by David Fincher; Choke starring Anjelica Huston and Sam Rockwell;
and the short film Romance, released in early 2013. A musical adaptation
of Fight Club by David Fincher is in the pipeline, and film adaptations
of Snuff and Invisible Monsters are scheduled for release in 2014.
Palahniuk is currently working on a graphic novel sequel to Fight
Club. He lives in Portland, Oregon. |
